UPV RECTORATE BUILDING – PERIMETER EAVES WATERPROOFING

Waterproofing works were carried out on the concrete perimeter eaves of the UPV Rectorate Building using a hot spray-applied membrane with the highly reflective SikaRoof Pro system.

The project began with diamond grinding of the concrete substrate using a single-disc grinding machine to achieve a smooth and uniform surface suitable for the subsequent waterproofing application.

Prior to the installation of the system, polyurethane mastic fillets were applied along the perimeter, while joints and drainage channels were reinforced with a one-component reinforced membrane to ensure continuity and durability.

As a primer, an epoxy resin was applied in several coats until the required coverage was achieved, providing the appropriate substrate conditions for the hot spray application of Sikalastic®-851 R using multicomponent spray equipment.

Finally, a protective finish consisting of two coats of white aliphatic polyurethane resin was applied to enhance UV reflectivity and improve the long-term performance of the system.
