Water Tank Rehabilitation in Costa d’en Blanes (Palma de Mallorca)

The Costa d’en Blanes potable water tank is located in the municipality of Calvià and represents a key infrastructure for the area’s water supply. Its owner, the Balearic Water and Environmental Quality Agency(ABAQUA), identified the need for a comprehensive rehabilitation to ensure long-term functionality and durability.

The project awarded to Polytech Systems S.L. included structural concrete repair and strengthening works, addressing corroded reinforcement and strengthening all joists using carbon fiber (CFRP). The selected waterproofing system was a 100% pure hot-spray polyurea, applied with specific certifications. For surface levelling and regularization, high-density technology products were used, ensuring total watertightness and a long-lasting durability. In addition, works were carried out on the tank roof, along with improvements to access points and safety elements. All of this was achieved through the execution of a detailed preliminary study prior to the implementation phase.

Our Highly experienced technical team, together with our construction and logistics personnel, worked in close coordination to meet the demanding requirements of this rehabilitation project. Both the quality of the works and the strict execution and delivery deadlines were once again achieved by our specialized team, completing the full rehabilitation of a 20,800 m³ tank within two months. The intervention was carried out while maintaining the water supply service, thanks to the tank’s configuration with two separate compartments.
