DESCRIPTION
Inside Valencia’s Universidad Politecnica they had quite a big problem with the electric transformers that power all the premises, both educational and sport and leisure buildings. These transformer prefabricated concrete buildings leaked a lot, and one of the reasons was that there were many floodings as water didn’t reach out of the decks. That could cause serious damage to the correct functioning of the campus power network.
That is why we decided to remake all the slopes making them steeper and also helped out by making the dreinages bigger so the water could evacuate better and faster. Once we had these things done, we started with the waterproofing systems, which consisted in a first linning of two component sprayed poliurethane and a second linning which consisted in a cold elastic poliurethane membrane armed with fiberglass. We used white color finish in order to help disipating part of the heat that the decks absorb.
