DESCRIPTION
This roof presented several issues. Poor slope design caused significant water ponding, along with multiple leaks due to the deteriorated condition of the original waterproofing system and perimeter and expansion joints.
Another major concern was the height of the 139 existing skylights, which posed a safety risk for maintenance personnel working on the roof.
The first step was to raise all skylights to a height of 1.70 m to ensure safe access and working conditions.
Next, the roof slopes were redesigned using cellular concrete, followed by a compression layer with high-strength R4 mortar suitable for receiving the new waterproofing system.
Finally, waterproofing was carried out using the Sikaroof Pro+ system with a highly reflective white finish. Technical walkways with a wearing layer were also installed to allow safe maintenance access across the roof.
